Compass Consultants was founded by Diane Rosen and Laurie Lyte. Together, we have more than 50 collective years as lawyers, as well as managerial experience across a variety of organizations. We created Compass Consultants work with clients to combine corporate best practices with the latest in Applied Positive Psychology research.

Diane Rosen

Dr. Diane Rosen

Principal

Diane is an author, coach, organizational consultant, lawyer, and mediator with experience in the private, nonprofit and public sectors.

In addition to her role as a principal of Compass Consultants, she is Counsel to Herrick Feinstein LLP. Formerly of Ortoli Rosenstadt LLP, Weil Gotshal & Manges; Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Alter & Rosen LLP, Diane specializes in real estate and corporate transactions, non-profit governance and US copyright law.

Diane is the author of The Grownups Guide: Living with Kids in Manhattan (1998, 2003) and The Grownups Guide: Visiting New York City with Kids (2003). She was the Founding Vice President of Girls Learn International, a non-profit organization that works to combat the global crisis in girls’ education. Diane currently serves on the Cornell University Council, the ILR School Dean’s Advisory Council, the President’s Council of Cornell Women and the advisory board of the Scheinman Institute on Conflict Resolution. She previously served on board of Planned Parenthood NYC, the New York French American Charter School, the Borough of Manhattan Community Board 8, and the advisory board of the Mt. Sinai Adolescent Health Center.

Diane is an Instructor (2022-present) at the University of Pennsylvania, College of Liberal and Professional Studies APOP 2000 (Positive Psychology at Work)(previously Assistant Instructor 2019-2021). She has also been an instructor for the DC Bar John Payton Leadership Academy; Managing Organizational Conflict PNW BOCES; and the Maryland Attorney General programs.

Diane holds certificates from the Columbia University Executive Coach Certification Program (C3P); Neethling Brain Instrument (NBI); Appreciative Inquiry, Phase I (Weatherhead Executive Education; Case Western Reserve); Cinergy Conflict Coaching, and the Wholebeing Institute Positive Psychology Coaching.

Laurie

Laurie Lyte

Principal

Laurie Lyte is a lawyer, coach, and training professional with experience in both the public and private sectors.

In addition to her role as a principal of Compass Consultants, she has served as a director of professional development and planning for a large state agency. Laurie’s public sector law practice was focused on complex litigation and government contracts; in private practice, she specialized in professional liability defense litigation. Laurie has experience in government procurement having served as a procurement analyst for the U.S. Army and as an attorney representing several state agencies in the procurement process.

Laurie has worked with organizations and individual clients to develop their strengths and find their professional niche; improve their organizational performance through a strengths-based approach; plan and manage growth and change; and create effective teams. She has experience in individual and team coaching, developing curricula and facilitating group sessions on topics such as leadership, management, negotiation and conflict resolution, stress management, change management, resiliency, and legal practice skills.

She is the lead instructor and program designer for the DC Bar John Payton Leadership Academy and and Assistant Instructor at the University of Pennsylvania, College of Liberal and Professional Studies APOP 2000 (Positive Psychology at Work).

Laurie holds a Graduate Certificate in Executive and Professional Coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a Myers Briggs Type Indicator Step I and Step II Certified Practitioner and certified in Appreciative Inquiry, Phase I (Weatherhead Executive Education; Case Western Reserve). She is also a member of the International Coaching Federation, holding a PCC certification.
